Techkinect partnered with Mattr to deliver a comprehensive network infrastructure and access control system across a large industrial facility. The project required executing a high-volume installation while stepping into a partially completed environment with multiple contractors—bringing organization, consistency, and performance to the overall system.
The initial phase focused on building a robust network backbone to support connectivity, security, and communications across the facility. This included large-scale structured cabling, fiber distribution, and device installation to create a scalable infrastructure capable of supporting high device density and long-term expansion.
Scope of Services Delivered
- Installation of ~250 Cat6 network drops throughout the facility
- Fiber backbone installation (multimode, 10G-capable) between key locations
- Installation of 30+ wireless access points
- Installation of 25+ IP cameras (interior and exterior)
- Installation of video intercom systems
- Rack installation (1 MDF & 6 IDF) with cable management and grounding
- Structured cabling terminations, labeling, and full system testing

In a second phase, Techkinect completed the access control system installation, which had been left partially incomplete by other contractors. This required careful evaluation of existing conditions and a flexible approach to reuse or replace wiring where necessary.
Access Control Scope
- Installation of 15 door controllers and I/O boards
- Installation of 15 card readers across multiple entry points
- Installation of 22 door contacts (standard and overhead doors)
- Installation of 6 request-to-exit (REX) devices
- Installation of 12 electric strikes and crash bar integration
- Access control wiring (18/2, 18/4, 18/6) for all devices
- System termination, labeling, testing, and initial troubleshooting support

A key challenge throughout the project was coordinating with multiple contractors while working within an environment where portions of the system had already been installed—but not always correctly or consistently. Techkinect performed on-site validation, corrected pathways where needed, and ensured all systems were delivered to specification.
The result is a clean, organized, and high-performance infrastructure that supports network operations, security systems, and future expansion without requiring rework.

In addition to the core infrastructure, Techkinect also provided and installed AV systems across 15 rooms throughout the facility. Each space was equipped with large-format displays, including dual LED displays mounted side-by-side for expanded presentation capability, along with Polycom PTZ cameras and conferencing systems to support high-quality hybrid meetings. This created a consistent, professional user experience across all rooms while extending the value of the network and AV infrastructure throughout the entire facility.
Results & ROI
Future-ready design – Infrastructure supports expansion without major reinvestment
Scalable infrastructure foundation – Supports hundreds of connected devices across the facility
Improved reliability – Standardized cabling and installation practices reduce long-term issues
Reduced project risk – Validation and correction of prior work prevents future failures
Enhanced facility security – Fully deployed access control system across all critical entry points
Efficient coordination – Successful delivery despite multi-contractor environment
This project highlights Techkinect’s ability to step into complex, multi-contractor environments and deliver organized, high-performance infrastructure systems at scale. By combining structured cabling, network deployment, and access control integration into a cohesive solution, we provided Mattr with a reliable foundation that supports daily operations, enhances security, and positions the facility for future growth without requiring costly rework.
