Custom AV control, modular table connectivity, and seamless room combining deliver a scalable, high-performance collaboration space.
Techkinect partnered with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) to design and implement a flexible, high-performance AV environment capable of supporting both large-scale training sessions and smaller, independent meetings. The primary objective was to create a space that could dynamically adapt to different use cases—without introducing complexity for end users.
The core challenge was delivering a two-way divisible room that could function seamlessly as one large training space or split into two fully independent environments. This required precise coordination of audio, video, control, and input routing to ensure both configurations performed reliably without manual reconfiguration or technical support.
To solve this, Techkinect engineered a fully integrated AV system with intelligent room-combining logic and custom control interfaces. Users can instantly switch between combined and divided modes, with the system automatically routing sources, displays, microphones, and audio zones accordingly. This eliminates the typical friction and confusion associated with divisible spaces.
A key requirement was providing maximum input flexibility at the table level. We designed modular table connectivity to support:
- (2) Wireless presentation devices
- (2) HDMI inputs
- (2) USB-C inputs
This ensures multiple presenters can connect simultaneously without swapping cables or interrupting the flow of a meeting—critical for training environments and collaborative sessions.
To support clear communication across all room configurations, we implemented ceiling-mounted microphone arrays paired with distributed audio and DSP processing, ensuring consistent voice pickup and reinforcement whether the room is combined or divided. Recessed projector screens and projection systems were integrated to maintain a clean architectural aesthetic while delivering large-format, high-visibility content throughout the space.
Beyond the main divisible room, Techkinect also delivered a small interview huddle room and a separate conference room, each equipped with full conferencing capabilities. These spaces provide additional flexibility for private meetings, interviews, and smaller team collaboration—creating a cohesive AV ecosystem throughout the facility.
At the center of the entire solution is a custom-designed control interface, tailored specifically to MTSI’s workflows. Rather than exposing users to complex AV routing, the UI simplifies operation into clear, intuitive actions—such as “Combine Rooms,” “Split Rooms,” or “Start Presentation”—significantly reducing training time and user error.
