In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and implementing automation solutions using Control4 and Atlona systems, along with other advanced technologies.
Responsibilities:
Automation System Programming:
- Design, develop, and program automation solutions using Control4 and Atlona systems, as well as other industry-leading technologies.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand automation requirements and translate them into functional designs.
- Customize automation systems to meet specific client needs, including integration with audio-visual equipment, lighting systems, security systems, and other smart devices.
- Test and debug automation programs to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance.
- Provide documentation and training for clients on how to use and maintain the automation systems.
Integration and Troubleshooting:
- Integrate automation systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and seamless communication between devices and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation systems, including software glitches, hardware malfunctions, and connectivity problems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automation technologies and tools, and proactively implement improvements to enhance system performance and functionality.
System Design and Planning:
- Collaborate with project teams to plan and design automation solutions that align with client requirements and project specifications.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate the feasibility of automation installations, considering factors such as wiring, connectivity, and device placement.
- Develop detailed system designs, including wiring diagrams, flowcharts, and equipment lists.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during the design and implementation of automation systems.
Collaboration and Client Engagement:
- Work closely with clients to understand their automation goals and provide expert guidance and recommendations.
- Communicate technical concepts and system functionalities to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technicians, electricians, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an automation programmer, preferably with expertise in Control4 and Atlona systems.
- Fundamental programming knowledge, including experience with programming languages such as Lua, JavaScript, or Python.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic fundamentals, including wiring, circuits, and signal distribution. Experience with low-voltage systems is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with automation protocols and technologies such as RS-232, IP control, and IR control.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and technologies.
- Relevant certifications in automation programming or related fields are a plus.
